Rooots

“We Got Dirt on Healing.”

At Rooots, we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty—literally. We believe real growth starts in the soil, whether that’s tending gardens, walking rescue dogs, or helping people rebuild their lives. Our mission is simple: take what feels broken, plant it with care, and watch it rise stronger. From fresh food to fresh starts, from wagging tails to second chances, we got dirt on healing—and we’re proud of it.

Gardens, Healing & Growth

At Rooots, our gardens are more than just places to grow food — they are living classrooms and healing sanctuaries for people of all ages. We welcome children with special needs, adults living with mental health challenges, and elders facing the difficulties of isolation and aging.

Through hands-on gardening, participants reconnect with nature while cultivating resilience, joy, and community. Children build confidence and sensory engagement, adults find peace and purpose through mindful work with the earth, and seniors experience connection and renewed vitality. By nurturing plants together, we nurture one another — creating a space where growth, wellness, and belonging take root side by side.

Paws & Companions

Rescue dogs are at the heart of Rooots. Our four-legged companions aren’t just pets — they are partners in healing. Through animal-assisted therapy, rehabilitation, and companionship, dogs help people rediscover trust, joy, and connection. At the same time, we give these dogs a second chance to thrive. Together, humans and animals walk the path of recovery, reminding us all that love, loyalty, and fresh starts can be found in unexpected places.

Rooots was born from a simple but powerful belief: that nature, animals, and community can heal what feels broken. The idea grew out of lived experience and observation — seeing how a garden can calm an anxious mind, how a dog’s loyalty can restore trust, and how purpose-filled work can give someone their life back.

We saw too many people left out — children with special needs, adults struggling with mental health challenges, and elders battling loneliness. We also saw land sitting unused, dogs waiting for homes, and people looking for second chances. Rooots was created to weave those needs together into something whole and hopeful.

Our vision is to transform overlooked spaces into gardens of growth, wellness, and belonging. By combining sustainable farming, animal companionship, and inclusive employment, Rooots creates opportunities for healing, resilience, and renewal.

We are not just planting seeds in the soil — we are planting seeds of change in people’s lives, with the hope that what grows here will ripple outward into families, neighborhoods, and the world beyond.
